Overview: imper.ai for Zoom

Prev Next

imper.ai integrates with Zoom to protect meetings against impersonation, social engineering, and deepfake attacks by verifying participants in real time.

Using multi-layer analysis across identity, device, and network signals, imper.ai assigns a dynamic risk score to meeting participants and provides administrators and protected users with actionable visibility—without disrupting the meeting experience.

Zoom integration

When using imper.ai with Zoom and Microsoft identity, Microsoft Entra ID must be configured first.

imper.ai integrates with Zoom to protect meetings against impersonation, social engineering, and deepfake attacks by verifying participants in real time. The integration relies on identity, device, and network signals to continuously assess participant risk without disrupting the meeting experience.

Once connected, imper.ai monitors Zoom meetings in real time and applies verification and risk analysis automatically, based on your organization’s security policies.

What imper.ai Protects in Zoom

When connected, imper.ai protects:

  • Zoom meetings created by users in your organization

  • Internal and external participants

  • Participants joining via shared or forwarded meeting links

Protection is applied automatically based on your organization’s configuration.

How the Zoom Integration Works

The Zoom integration consists of two distinct components:

  1. Zoom Communication Channel

Enables imper.ai to monitor Zoom meetings in real time using Zoom APIs, webhooks, and event subscriptions.

  2. imper.ai Zoom Add-on

An optional Zoom add-on that provides real-time visibility and verification controls inside the Zoom Meeting Client for protected users.

These components serve different purposes and are deployed separately.

Deployment Order (Important)

To deploy imper.ai for Zoom successfully, follow this order:

  1. Configure Microsoft Entra ID (required when using Zoom with Microsoft identity)

  2. Connect Zoom Communication Channel

  3. Review and approve Zoom permissions

  4. Deploy the imper.ai Zoom Add-on (optional but recommended)

  5. (Optional) Configure a custom meeting URL

Each step is documented in a dedicated onboarding article.

Protected User Experience (High Level)

Once deployed:

  • Calendar invitations containing Zoom links are automatically wrapped with imper.ai verification

  • Participants are redirected to a pre-verification page before joining

  • imper.ai evaluates identity signals and assigns a real-time risk score

  • Verification results are visible to administrators and protected users (via the add-on)

Participants are not shown their internal risk score.
