Connecting Microsoft Entra

Connect your Microsoft Entra ID tenant so imper.ai can use your organization's identity data to verify users and support its security workflows.

This article explains how to connect your Microsoft Entra tenant to imper.ai and verify a successful connection.


Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure of the following:

  • Microsoft Entra ID administrator privileges.

  • Admin access to the imper.ai Admin Console.

  • Your organization has approved third-party integrations with Microsoft Entra.

  • You have copied your Tenant ID :

    • Log in to the Azure Portal using your administrator credentials.

    • Navigate to Microsoft Entra ID > Tenant Properties.

    • Copy the Tenant ID.


Procedure

Follow these steps to connect Microsoft Entra to your imper.ai environment:

  1. Log in to imper.ai using your admin credentials or Single Sign-On (SSO).

  2. Go to Settings > Integrations.

  3. Navigate to Microsoft Entra , and click Connect. The Microsoft login pop-up opens.

  4. Enter your Tenant ID (found in Azure > Tenant Properties) and click Enter.

  5. Click Open Link to be redirected to the Microsoft Authorization page.

  6. Approve the requested permissions on the Microsoft Authorization page.

  7. Once complete, the Installation Completed Successfully opens.


Verify Connectivity

After connecting, imper.ai automatically performs several checks:

  • Validates the Entra tenant.

  • Pulls basic identity metadata.

  • Confirms the domain.

  • Displays the integration connection status.

  • Shows the last sync timestamp.

If any required permission is missing, imper.ai displays a notification in the Integration panel.


What imper.ai Reads from Microsoft Entra

The integration is read-only.

imper.ai does not write, modify, delete, or update any objects in your Entra environment.

imper.ai retrieves:

  • User display names

  • Entra user IDs

  • Login domain

  • Basic identity attributes

  • Identity attributes used to verify users

  • MFA-related status (if made available by the organization)

No write operations occur.

This integration provides the identity data imper.ai uses to verify users across its use cases.
