Answers to common questions about setting up and running imper.ai for Hiring.
Getting Started
What is imper.ai for Hiring?
imper.ai secures remote candidate interviews by verifying candidate identity and surfacing fraud risk throughout the hiring process, without changing how recruiters schedule or run interviews. See the Overview.
Which systems do I need to connect?
- Calendar and meeting access (Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365 / Outlook) so imper.ai can see scheduled interviews and attach verification links.
- Your recruiting platform (ATS) - Workday, Greenhouse, Ashby, or SmartRecruiters.
See Getting Started with imper.ai for Hiring.
How does imper.ai protect an interview?
For each protected interview, imper.ai replaces the meeting link with a secure verification link. The candidate completes verification and is redirected to the original meeting - inside the existing recruiting workflow, with no separate process for recruiters to manage.
The Interview Flow
Does this change how recruiters schedule interviews?
No. Interviews are scheduled exactly as before. imper.ai adds a security layer in the background rather than a separate workflow.
What does imper.ai check during verification?
imper.ai analyzes risk in real time - such as impersonation attempts or anomalous devices - and produces a risk result for the candidate. See the Analysis Report.
Can imper.ai catch the same candidate using a different identity across interview stages?
Yes. imper.ai links verification activity across interview stages and can surface identity inconsistencies when different individuals appear to participate as the same candidate.
Greenhouse
Common questions about how interview protection behaves in specific situations with the Greenhouse integration.
What happens if the candidate does not complete verification?
The candidate is not redirected to the meeting. If they never confirm their identity, nothing is recorded; if they abandon verification mid-flow, the result is recorded as Incomplete.
What happens if the candidate's verification produces risk indicators?
The interview is not blocked - the candidate still joins the meeting. The outcome and detected risk indicators are written to the candidate record and available on the Candidates Page.
What happens if the candidate is moved back into the protected interview stage?
imper.ai reuses the same secured address the candidate had before. It does not issue a new one.
What happens if the candidate has multiple video interviews?
One secured address covers all of the candidate's video interview stages, retired only when they leave those stages. Each interview is still verified and recorded separately.
What happens if an interview is rescheduled or the invitation is resent?
Both reuse the same secured link and address. Since the verification link is used once per interview, a candidate who already verified is not asked to verify again.
What happens if the candidate replies to an invitation sent through the secured address?
The reply is forwarded to the recruiter associated with the candidate in Greenhouse.
Managing Candidates
Where do I see an overview of hiring risk?
The Hiring Dashboard summarizes interview volume, candidate risk, and interview locations for a selected timeframe.
Where do I review a specific candidate's verification history?
The Candidates Page shows each candidate's risk status, risk type, and full interview history, including verification and device details.
How is a candidate's risk score determined?
The Analysis Report breaks down the signals imper.ai evaluated - Network, Location, Device, Tools, and Identity - each labeled as positive, neutral, or an anomaly.
Is there an audit trail of platform activity?
Yes. The Audit Log records authentication and administrative events, such as logins and role changes.
Settings & Administration
How do I manage who can access the imper.ai console?
Add users and assign them a role - Admin, Viewer, or HR - from User Management. This controls console access only, not which candidates are verified.
Can I use our own domain for meeting links?
Yes. Administrators can configure a custom branded meeting URL in Organization Settings.
